1. Kilborn Mawhorter was born April 07, 1829 in Ohio. On November 16, 1864 in Kendallville, Noble County, Indiana; Kilborn enlisted in Company D, 42nd. Indiana Voluntary Infantry. Kilborn got sick June 08, 1865 in Washington D.C.. On June 16, 1865 Kilborn's one year of service was over and he was mustered out of service. Kilborn Mawhorter married Elizabeth Marsh December 10, 1879 in Noble County, Indiana. Kilborn Mawhorter died September 06, 1889 in Noble County, Indiana and was buried at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmel, Noble County, Indiana. His wife Elizabeth died July 18, 1884 in Noble County, Indiana and was buried at Eagle Lake Cemetery in Noble County.

2. James M. Mawhorter was born September 14, 1833 in Marion County, Ohio. On January 01, 1856 James M. Mawhorter married Rachael A. Roe in Noble County, Indiana. Rachael A. Roe was the daughter of Joseph Roe (b. 1797) and Sylvia Simpkins (b. 1807). Rachael was born in Ohio February 15, 1838 and moved to Noble County, Indiana with her parent's and sister's in 1846 . In August of 1861 James M. Mawhorter enlisted in Company C, 30th. Indiana Voluntary Infantry in Ligonier, Noble County, Indiana. Company C, 30th. Indiana Infantry was in the Battle of Shiloh April 07, 1862 in Harden County, Tennessee during the Civil War. James M. Mawhorter was wounded in battle. James M. received a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transferred August 17, 1863 to the 20th. Company, 2nd. Battalion Invalid Corps at Convalesent Camp in Nashville, Tennessee. On June 23, 1863 James M. got sick and was sent to the hospital in Munfreesboro, Tennessee and transferred to and entered no. 15 General Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee June 25, 1863 and returned to his duty June 25, 1863. James M. Mawhorter was transferred back to Company C, 30th. Indiana Infantry March 23, 1864. On November 26, 1864 James M. was mustered out of service.

In March of 1888 James M. purchased some land near Diamond Lake in Elkhart township, Noble County, Indiana. James M. Mawhorter died at his residence December 31, 1897 and was buried at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmel, Noble County, Indiana. After James M. Mawhorter's death his wife Rachael A. moved in with their daughter Viola (Mawhorter) Longnecker in Ligonier, Noble County, Indiana. Rachael A. Mawhorter died June 25, 1917 in Noble County, Indiana and was buried at Sparta Cemetery next to James M.
